Memorial Day Weekend 4 Wheeling

So I went back to Hollister for a second run at 4 wheeling.  This time Melanie was able to join me and we hung out with our friend’s Danny and Katie.  It was a blast and Melanie did great driving off-road.  We also had a pretty good laugh, since we were hanging out in one of the obstacle areas when this row of clean cut, dressed in Dolce, too much cash to burn, middle age couples rolled up in about Six LR3’s and Range Rovers with their Safari looking tour guide that moved rocks out of their way.

Melanie couldn’t resist taunting them with our 200K mile,1990 4 Runner, and my friend Danny taking up the rear with his Jeep when they were all being guided on the trails to take by Safari Jim.  Check out the funny video below where Danny is in the Rover line up, bringing up the rear.

Go watch Switchfoot!

So Jenny Fonto (aka Jennifer Fontamillias, now Munoz) is my closest connection to knowing someone famous.  Her brother Jerome is in the band Switchfoot and plays the guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals.  Switchfoot is starting their tour and has a new song from the movie “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”.

It’s very cool to see him land with a successful band, since I remember watching him at his high shool playing in his band with my cousin Arnie and hanging out at the Fontamillias pad during my grade/high school years.  He’s definitely worked hard and one very talented musician.

Jenny is promoting her bro’s band and just posted on her Facebook page that they will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tues. May 13, so if you don’t know the band check them out!

4-Wheeling in Hollister

Today I spent 5 hours 4-wheeling with buddy Danny in Hollister, CA. Danny has one of the BADDEST Jeeps and I took the good ole 1990 Toyota 4-Runner. I wasn’t sure how the 4- Runner was going to work out, since it’s an 18 year old truck, but it was INCREDIBLE!

If I get the 4Runner some better shoes (tires), like mud terrains, it would be an even better experience, since the current All-Terrain tires slipped in a few spots.

Melanie was suppose to go with us, but she’s sick, so she’ll have to tag along next time. Check out the pictures by clicking on my pic with the 4-Runner.

April Fun

Lots of fun stuff going on in April.  Melanie’s cousins from the Philippines visited us and we played tour guide for the day in Monterey.  Check out the pictures by clicking on the group photo below.

Also last weekend Melanie and I decided to drive to Mendocino, we couldn’t have asked for better driving weather and we took the boyz (tobi and parker) with us.  We found a very dog friendly hotel where they lived it up.

If you ever decide to drive Hwy 1 and find yourself close to Tomales Bay, you should stop by “The Marshall Store”, which is one of the best places to have oysters.  Melanie and I went crazy and ended having 36 between the two of us, here’s their website:

The new PI Journey is going on tour…

My peeps (filipino’s) have a new front man for one of my favorite Late 70’s/80’s rock bands. Journey found Arnel Pineda on YouTube and are now heading out on tour. Here’s the schedule from their homepage and check out a clip from a show they did in Chile below, it’s the end of “Lights”, “Open Arms”, and “Only the Young”, it’s pretty impressive!

Yosemite in February

So this past weekend we celebrated Ate’s (Melanie’s sister) birthday in Yosemite.  Yosemite is such a beautiful place and this is the first time I’ve seen it in winter.  It’s was also the first time my new truck saw snow, in case you didn’t know I no longer have my sport’s car, I’m driving american now.  Click on the pictures below to see Yosemite in the winter and “Burli”, Melanie’s name for my new truck.
